Position: Software Build & Release Engineer/ SCM Engineer

Location: Alicante, Spain

Company: The position is located in the Public Sector through a leading IT service provider for an agency of the European Union.

Description:

Within the Application Development and Maintenance Service department of our client, we are currently looking for a Software Build & Release Engineer/ SCM Engineer with sound IT experience in managing and setting up the tooling and procedures for Continuous Integration and Delivery Environments. This is an exciting opportunity where ultimately the expert will be responsible for all aspects of the software build and deployment process, including configuration and distributing release artefacts. The expert will also be expected to review current processes and propose improvements.

• Working closely with the Development, Architecture, QA and Infrastructure teams
• Contributing to the strategy & vision of continuous integration and delivery and owning the implementation
• The continuous improvement & automation of the build & deployment processes/strategies
• Owning and managing the Development environment
• Developing/maintaining build & deployment scripts
• Managing/maintaining source control, continuous integration server
• Supporting defect/issue tracking tools (Jira)
• Supporting Agile development tools

Technical/Specific Requirements:

• Hands on experience in managing and administering SCM systems as SVN (ideally SVN Multisite) and Git
• Perfect understanding in different branching and tagging strategies
• Hands-on experience with Ant and Maven
• Several experiences setting and administering a Continuous Integration and delivery environment (Hudson/Jenkins/Cruise Control, Nexus/Artifactory)
• Scripting (Windows/Unix/Linux)
• Java
• Application Server knowledge
• Experience as application administrator for the Attlassian Suite (Jira, Crowd, Fisheye, etc..)
• Build and configuration management role, working with development teams to develop and automate build processes

• English (Spanish not required)
